Less than twenty minutes by bike, after passing the small village of Préchac, you will find on the road to Uzeste the tiny Ciron river. Here canoe and kayak are available for rent. Rowing straight through the Gorges du Ciron you will have an unforgettable day, surrounded by a wonderful scenery of pure nature.

By bike you will be able to visit the medieval castles of Villandraut, Cazeneuve and Roquetaillade. On your way to Sauternes, don’t miss the picturesque city of medieval Bazas.
By car…
By car you can reach the Atlantic coast in about 1 hour. Visit the Bassin d’Arcachon with its lovely beaches and beautiful bike trails around the lake. A bit further on the highest dune of Europe, Dune du Pyla, will impress you. After climbing this enormous sand dune, you will enjoy the magnificent view over one of the cleanest coasts of France.
And did you know that even the Dordogne is less than 1,5 hour by car? Visit the old villages of Belves, Bergerac and Sarlat, as well as the caves of Rocamadour and Les Eyziers. This one day tour is certainly worth a try.
Finally the Pyrenees mountains are only two hours away. A superb place for mountain biking, walking, rafting, horse riding and many things more…

Within less than 20 miles we offer you two wonderful golf courses: one in Langon (‘Golf du Sauternais’), the other in the Casteljaloux area, about 9 miles from Bazas. Tennis courts are available in the villages of Villandraut, Bourideys and Sauternes.
