OUR

Animals

The animals are an essential part of La Bastide. Without them, La Bastide would not be what it is today: a lively place of tranquillity, encounters and connection with nature. They shape everyday life, provide closeness, warmth and many quiet moments that make this place so special.

At the same time, such togetherness also means responsibility. Food, care and veterinary care are associated with a not inconsiderable financial outlay. We take on this responsibility consciously and with great dedication – day after day.

If you would like to support our animals, there are various ways to do so. A direct donation is just as welcome as a personal contact to discuss how we can provide individual support. Every form of help counts and directly benefits the animals.

In addition, all proceeds from our small store Le Marché go entirely towards the care and maintenance of the animals. Every purchase therefore makes a valuable contribution.

Thank you for being part of this project and helping to ensure that La Bastide remains a place for people and animals.

Cavall felic

Living outside in nature and in as similar a form as possible to the wild is what I set myself. The horses all have a story – not always a happy one – but it always has a happy ending. At La Bastide, the horses have been given a place forever.

Sheep

Our Cameroon sheep are an integral part of La Bastide. They are not only lovable residents, but also extremely hard-working, natural lawnmowers that gently tend our forests and meadows.

Originally, these sheep were destined to end up on a plate. In La Bastide, however, they have experienced a different fate: They were allowed to stay and have been given a free, safe place to live.

Cats

A total of seven cats live in La Bastide. We adopted four of them and gave them a new home here. As sometimes happens in life, one cat was not sterilized – contrary to our promise – and so we were soon surprised with three lovely kittens.

Today, all seven form a well-coordinated team. They work with great enthusiasm to ensure that La Bastide remains free of mice and give us their very own feel-good and “Jö” effect every day.

Milo

Milo, our Beaucerau, was born on a farm and didn’t find a home for a long time. While his seven siblings were quickly placed, there was initially no room for him. When I heard about this, I couldn’t resist.

Since then, Milo has been an integral part of La Bastide and my faithful companion in everyday life. With a watchful eye and a big heart, he reliably looks after all two- and four-legged friends and makes sure that everyone feels safe here.

Chicken

Happy chickens, delicious eggs

We apologize for not introducing each chicken individually at this point. However, we and our guests look forward to receiving fresh organic eggs as a gift every day!

Although the chickens sleep in their coop, during the day they move freely around the entire area.

and if fate wills it, there will certainly be more….
